My husband and I had a large wedding planned out in San Francisco until COVID hit and cancelled everyone's wedding plans for 2020.

We opted to change plans and host a micro wedding/elopement on Alchemy from the Redondo Beach Harbor, and we are so happy we did. The sailboat is incredibly beautiful and Geoff and Emily were so accommodating and flexible. We coordinated all of our vendors with ease partly because they are so easy to work with. They are so passionate about sailing and truly made our experience so memorable. We are forever grateful!

My friends and I just went sailing with Geoff and the Alchemy for Memorial Day week-end, and let me just say this: I can't think of any way the experience could have been better!! Here are some reasons why:

The boat is incredibly beautiful, lots of wood work, the pictures are actually accurate, she is a beauty - The boat is really large and feels totally safe, can comfortably fit 7 people including Geoff - Equipement (wind jackets or safety jackets) is in great condition But Mainly: - Geoff is an amazing person, super laid back and knowledgable - He loves teaching and is very patient - He was very flexible in organizing our trip the way we wanted, I was actually organizing this for a friend's birthday and he let us plan the way we wanted, picked us up at the ferry building, etc ... - He knows the Bay area like no one - He is a great photographer and can send you the pictures - He is just really really good at what he does, which is sailing

He really feels like one of those people who is passionate about what they do and want to ensure every body is having a wonderful time. He can do anything from night sailing, to romantic sunsets, to sporty fast sailing (which is more what we did), to intro to sailing, to advanced lessons, to week-end trips, etc ...

He is the Best. Go for it!

Having met Geoff while on race committee duty during the Melges 24 World Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas. We couldn't help notice that Happy Grin of his everyday on the water. A great example of an ambassador to sailing. It was a pleasure to spend time getting to know him. Can't wait to see him when I attend the America's Cup in San Francisco later this year.

Captain Geoff is not only an expert sailor who can safely handle the beautiful sailboat Alchemy in any situation, he is a very personable host who can accommodate all types of people and sailing needs. I have seen many charter boats in my couple years of being a sailing addict in the Bay, and I think Alchemy Sailing is by far the company with the most beautiful boat and the most likable captain. Alchemy Sailing goes wayyyy above and beyond the standard fare of Bay Area sailing charters by combining great sailing, customized planning, routes, and beautiful locations with Geoff's gigantic variety of skills (cooking, teaching, photography, navigating, great hosting, people skills, sailing expertise, friendliness). I have always had an amazing time with Alchemy Sailing Adventures, and so will you!

Pretty much every great memory and amazing sailing experiences I have had, have been when I was out with Geoff on Alchemy. The first time I went under the Golden Gate Bridge was on Alchemy, and that experience will forever be one of the greatest in my book. Geoff is great company and an exceptional sailor, plus the food he cooks is to die for! Alchemy is a great boat to discover the bay by, she sails so comfortably with lots of room. There is never a dull moment when out on this beautiful boat and friendly captain!

I'm also a captain on the Bay and have known Geoff for several years. He works hard to make sure everyone around him is comfortable and safe. I would not hesitate to recommend him to total novices and seasoned sailors alike to provide a fun and safe trip on the Bay!

Geoff is one of the best, most pleasant, knowledgeable Captains I have met. He adapts his trips on the fly to changing weather conditions and the desires of his passengers. Alchemy is one of the most beautiful boats out there, with beautiful kitchen, decks, sails, a on-board heater, music, and a fully functioning bathroom. Luxury sailing at its best.

I have sailed and worked with Geoff for many years and he's very knowledgable and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Laid back and loves to have fun. Alchemy is a great, stable well maintained vessel. If you looking for the right boat to go have a great time on, this is it!

Have you been driving over the bay area bridges wondering "Why am I not out sailing?". Stop wondering and get out with Alchemy sailing. It's clear that Geoff has put a ton of time and effort into making his boat safe and seaworthy and it shows when you are on the boat with him. The whole experience is calm and relaxed. I loved my experience aboard the Alchemy with Geoff! He took us crabbing and the hospitality was world class and at the same time low key and personal. His boat is beautiful and well maintained. Sailing under sail power was so much more relaxing and unique than going on a big motorized boat.

I don't think you can find a more laid back and enjoyable sailing experience than with Geoff! Geoff is super patient as a teacher, and doesn't get frustrated when you ask a million questions, and is interesting and fun to sail with as a Captain. Alchemy is beautiful, Geoff is talented and charismatic, and knows the Bay like the back of his hand. I don't think you could go wrong sailing with Geoff!

Captain Geoff is just who you want to take you out on the San Francisco Bay. He is highly experienced and is a true captain (spends many overnights at anchor, is a fisherman, cook etc.). His boat is just lovely and has the characteristics of what you would expect out of a novel. He is fun, safe, very friendly and is just a general all around really nice person. You will love sailing with him and he will make sure your experience will always be remembered.

I really can't say enough about how great our experience with Geoff was at Alchemy Sailing Adventures. He was a fantastic host, a fun sailing partner, and tons of help when it came to planning our adventure (as well as a great ninja-accomplice during my surprise engagement). I met my girl friend on a boat trip in the SF Bay, so I'd known for awhile that I wanted to ask her to marry me in the same place. Unfortunately for our planning purposes, we're currently living in Iowa while she finishes medical school. This meant just searching advertisements on Google, trying to find someone who would be a good fit for my plans-- a process that really wasn't working out. Everyone I talked to was inflexible about times and locations, or unhelpful about answering my questions, or bad about offering suggestions for planning (I can be a difficult customer. Sometimes I know exactly what I want and obsess over the details, sometimes I have no idea what I want and I'm looking for a little guidance). This all changed when a mutual friend recommended I call Geoff. He did a really great job at helping me figure out a plan that would fit our timeline (my fiance only had a few days off), our needs (not every boat is the right size or can handle an engagement), and our budget (did I mention I'm engaged to a student?). The Captain was really in tune with what we wanted on the trip. He was friendly, but not too invasive; let us help with the sailing when we wanted, or just relax; and picked out lots of beautiful places to sail to. He also arranged a little bit of food and champagne for us. Most amazingly, he was on hand to snap lots of photos, while still piloting the boat (many without my fiance even realizing)-- truly beautiful photos I know we'll treasure for years.

All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything more. If you have any inkling that you might want to propose on a boat-- or even just have a nice time with someone special, you'd be in good hands with Alchemy Sailing Adventures.
